NEWS Review: Jan/Feb 2003
"There’s much strength and
diversity in this CD. This is mature, reflective and intelligent
contemporary folk music. You’ll find passion, compassion, depth
and insights into the human condition in these disturbed times.
Jim Lesses may indeed sometimes wake up naked. We should all be
glad that he wakes up and writes such fine songs."

Magazine Review: November 2002
"It's taken quite a while
for Jim Lesses to release his debut CD. He has been involved in
Adelaide's folk music community for a few decades now in various
ways including the Folk
Federation and SCALA,
and all that time he has been writing and occasionally performing
his own songs. Then recently, the time felt right to commit them
to the recording process, a number of guests were brought in to
flesh the arrangements out and this CD is the result."

Review: October 2002
"No-one I know works harder
at his craft than Jim Lesses. He’s been an inspiration to many
people for his single-minded determination to improve steadily as
a songwriter and performer – practicing in his living room with
a broomstick for a dummy microphone stand, setting up his website,
toiling assiduously at his lyrics and promoting himself as far and
wide as any human can. This CD brings it all together."

| The
'Sometimes I Wake Up Naked' Concert Review |
| (Feel The Poetry - and
Make It Shine!)
"On the liner notes of his
LP, Bringing It All Back Home, Bob Dylan writes: a
song is anything that can walk by itself/I am called a songwriter.
a poem is a naked person... some people say that I am a poet.
"Well here's someone who
says, happy and celebrating, that Jim Lesses is among that rare
echelon of 'singer-songwriter-naked poets'. What better testimony
(and appropriate title!) than his concert on March 17, 2002, at
the South Australian Folk Centre."

Folk Club Review: November 1999
"Once a month the Hills Folk
Club, at its blackboard session, provides room for a special guest
to have an extended spot. This month it was Jim Lesses, who has
been a regular at the Hills for a couple of years. It's been
interesting to watch Jim's rocket-like growth as a performer, from
a self-effacing apologist, shaking his head and scowling at his
guitar and himself whenever he made a mistake, to an energetic,
open, engaging artist, putting into practice everything - well,
almost everything - he preached in his inspiring article (SCALA
News July/August 1999)."
